World Service Conference (WSC) 2023

“Progress Through Worldwide Unity”

April 27 - May 2, 2023

Service Guides to use with the (car) Motions

These are helpful tools that can be used as a resource when reading through the Conference Agenda Report Motions. Documents are linked directly to the World Service website.

Click on Central California Region Proposed Motions, to see detailed information on those motions that were submitted for the 2023 WSC.

What is the World Service Conference?

It is a biennial business meeting where Regional Delegates from around the world come together to vote on motions that affect the Nar-Anon fellowship as a whole. Motions were received from regions worldwide to continue our primary purpose as we grow and develop in our fellowship.

The CAR (Conference Agenda Report) is the means by which the WSC will communicate the issues that will be addressed at the conference. All groups and their members will have an opportunity to review it and have their voice heard at the group level. The tool used to document the group conscience is the tally sheet. The 2023 CAR will be posted once it is received from the World Service Conference with any updates. The Group Service Representatives (GSRs) will take the CAR and Tally Sheets and share them with their groups.

As Delegate and Alternate Delegate, it is our privilege to humbly assist any interested members in the process of reviewing the motions. We will help to coordinate and facilitate the review of the CAR.

GSRs and Alternate GSRs, Thank you for your selfless service to our Nar-Anon Groups by keeping your meetings open, healthy and welcoming to the Newcomer. Some of you have experience working with the CAR, and others, this may be your first time looking at the documents. We have been there too. For 2023 WSC, there are 87 motions to be voted on. This can be viewed a challenge considering the volume and perceived complexities of Motions submitted. Easy does it, You are not alone.

Utilizing the tools of our program: Steps, Traditions and Concepts, referencing the most recent copies of The Guides to World, Local and Regional Services (GWS, GLS, GRS) as well as a dictionary will be helpful in reaching a group conscience. Prayer to a Higher Power… is always helpful!
